Groombridge Place Trip, East Sussex, 15-09-2008 I have been planning to go to Groombridge Place for a while now, weather pending. Well I decided to go for it on the 15th, the weather was quite sunny in the morning, forecast was good, same as the day before being warm, bright and sunny,,,,,,,, as per usual they got it wrong, it ended up dull, overcast, and grey. I have never been to Groombridge Place, so had no idea what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised, parking near the entrance, and in you go for £8-95, The place in generally gardens, statues, and buildings, with some great Peacocks wandering around, there are some woods and more, but I never had the time to explore all of it, which is good as personally I missed quite a lot, even though I was there for like 5 hours, means I want to go again, just making sure it is sunny first.
![]() There are 2 bird feeding sessions, for the bird lovers, with hawks and eagles alike flying around and feeding and a good commentary from the keepers of the bird santuary.
The Peacocks are so used to people you can ge treally close to them, I used silent mode on the camera so they were not disturbed, and when I mean Close I mean Real Close Although the garden season is near ending for the year, there was still plenty to shoot, but I bet early summer the colors would be vivid and bright ideal for some great bokeh shots. © Brett Butler 2008 |
